You finally took the plunge and asked your stylist to give you the super trendy raised bob haircut. Also known as an inverted or asymmetrical bob, this 'do has been rocked by celebs all over, from Rihanna to Katie Holmes. Of course it looked perfect when you left the salon, but how do you recreate that look without your stylist's magic fingers? All you really need are a few products.

1.

After washing your hair, apply a hair-smoothing cream to damp strands. Your hair should also be free of split ends or you'll lose the sleekness you want. This is the first key to getting the ultra-shiny look that makes a raised bob so modern.

2.

Create a deep side part and, using a round brush, brush your hair forward as you blow dry from back to front. Don't flip your head over when drying this style. Pulling forward as you dry will help you achieve the sleek, angled look.

3.

Once you hair is dry, part it on the side. To get the maximum asymmetry, part side-swept bangs extra deep. Add a little bit of styling wax at the roots of your bangs so they stay pulled far over.

4.

Begin straightening from the front and working your way to the back. At the front, pull forward as you straighten. The raised bob angles dramatically, and straightening this way will ensure maximum drama.

5.

If your hair is very short at the back, work in a little bit of styling wax and let it spike out a bit. Raised bobs are often meant to look spikey in the back and smooth and sleek in the front.

6.

Spritz on some shine spray for all-out sleek, glossy locks. You could be famous, darling!

Tips & Tricks

If you have a raised bob, you should only wash your hair a couple of times a week to ensure maximum sleekness and shine, according to "Teen Vogue." When you wash your hair too much, you strip out healthy oils and can dry it out.
