If you want your eyes to make a statement but don't know how, don't fret. There are plenty of smokin'-hot eye makeup styles that will totally make your look sizzle. They're also much easier to pull of than you'd think. Learn how to master a few tips and tricks and your eyes will look fab in no time.
Perfect Cat Eye
The cat eye is a fab way to bring all the focus to your gorgeous peepers. To get the look, opt for either a gel or pencil liner. This look takes patience, so take your time. Start lining your eyes at the inner lid and work your way out. You'll want to create a thick line. Once you reach the outer corner of the eye, extend the line about another quarter inch, flicking your wrist with an upward stroke to create a winged effect. Top off with lots of mascara and you're done.
Purple Smoke
Smoky eyes are a super sultry way to stand out. Instead of working a neutral smoky eye look, try a colorful one instead. Purple shades are perfectly on trend, but pick any darker color you like. You'll want two shades. Try a deep plum and a lighter pink shadow. Your shadow will be applied from the eye line all the way up to the brow line. Apply plum shadow starting at the inner corner of the eye and work your way about halfway across. Now apply your pink to the outer half of the eye, and use a brush to blend the two shades together. Amp up the look with a plum liner applied just to the bottom lash line. Finish off with mascara.
Keep It Natural
For daytime, work a natural look. Pick a shade that's a few hues lighter than your skin tone. Apply this shade all over your lid. Next, apply a brown shade to the outer corner creases of the eye and blend it into the lighter shade with a brush. Apply a pencil liner to the top lash line that matches your hair color. Do the same with your mascara. If you have blond or red hair, stick to a brown shade of your choice.
Heavy Mascara Contrast
If you want to look natural but are really craving long luscious lashes, try this style. Keep the eyes totally clean except for adding lots of mascara. Here's how to pull it off. Use a volumizing mascara first. Wiggle it along the base of the lash to create fullness before pulling it forward. Now take a lengthening mascara and sweep it over the top of the lash. Take that same mascara and run it along the tips of the lashes, and voila! Super long and luscious daytime lashes.
