1.
Wash your hair with shampoo and condition your hair as usual. Rinse your hair well with warm water.
2.
Blot your hair dry with the towel. Don't rub too briskly, though, unless you like frizzies.
3.
Dry your hair with the blow dryer. Set the temperature to low and hold the blow dryer about six inches away from your hair. Direct the blow dryer over your hair and finger-style it while you blow. Keep blowing until your hair is completely dry.
4.
Place a quarter-size dollop of hair wax on the palm of one hand. Rub your hands together gently to activate the wax. It may begin to foam as you rub. Blot your hands over your hair where you want spikes to apply the wax to your hair.
5.
Pinch small sections of hair to create the spikes. The base of your spikes should be about one-quarter of the length of the spikes. This means that if your hair is two inches long, the base of the spikes should be about 1/2-inch wide. Grasp the hair with your fingers and pull it straight out to a point.
6.
Apply a bit more wax to the spikes if they need a little more staying power. Pinch the tips of the spikes with a bit of wax on your fingers to give them more control.
7.
Let your spikes dry. The wax should keep them sturdy and defined. The wax may make your hair feel a little greasy, but it will help your spikes stay spiked.
