Makeup is a part of most women's daily morning routine. It's supposed to brighten and freshen up your face. It's not supposed to be overdone; the idea is to not look made up. There is makeup for the day and makeup for the evening. Soft makeup is usually worn during the day. Evening makeup usually involves a bit more eye makeup or a darker lip.
Foundation
Start off by applying a dab of concealer under your eyes. Don't use a concealer that is too light, or you will look like you wore sunglasses while tanning! Soft make up is great for the summer. Use a lightweight foundation. Another option for soft makeup is a tinted moisturizer. Look for one with an SPF 15 to fight sun damage and pesky wrinkles. Also, try a foundation in a stick that is super easy to apply.
Blush and Bronzer
Blush adds color to your face and makes you look wide awake. Blush comes in many different shades and with different ways to apply it. A nice pink or berry shade will give a pop of color. "Glamour" magazine suggests using a cream blush to give a "glow-from-within effect." If you have applied too much blush, then dab on a bit more foundation. Use a bronzer with a large makeup brush for a soft glow. From your forehead, sweep the bronzer down on both sizes of your face and on your nose.
Eyes
Start by applying a light shimmery champagne shade on your entire eyelid and up under the brow bone. Put a tiny bit of the eyeshadow in the corner of your eye by the tear duct. Use an eyeshadow that is a little bit darker, like a gold, bronze, silver or light pink shade, on the crease to make the eyes pop. Next, use a light eyeliner like a brown on the lash line to add definition. Use an eyelash curler if you don't have long curled lashes, and then a coat of mascara on the top and bottom lashes.
Lips
Moist lips are crucial for a soft makeup look. If your lips are chapped, use a warm washcloth to get any dry skin off. Apply some lip balm to soften the lips up. Choose a soft lipstick shade that matches your lips' natural color, or that is one shade darker. Light pinks usually look best on fair skin tones, berry shades on medium skin tones and corals on olive skin tones. After work, to get ready for evening, add some lip gloss, a bit more eyeliner and another coat of mascara!
