Body wraps are the ultimate in pampering indulgence, a chance to lie back and relax while natural beautifying ingredients get to work on your dull, dry skin. Unfortunately, this luxurious experience often comes with an equally luxurious price tag. The solution? Treat yourself to a relaxing and rejuvenating spa-break in the comfort of your own home with a DIY body wrap. Your baby-soft skin, not to mention your bank balance, will thank you for it.

1.

Transform a room in your house into a pampering haven. Put the heating on to warm up the room so you’ll be nice and cozy in your beautifying cocoon.

2.

Place some towels over a warm radiator or switch on your electric blanket. If you want to use towels but do not have a radiator, fill up some hot water bottles ready to place on top of the towels to create warmth.

3.

Cover your improvised treatment table -- a comfortable bed, camping mattress or massage table -- with plastic sheeting or garbage bags. Lay a large towel on top.

4.

Remove the peel from each papaya with a sharp kitchen knife. Slice the fruit in half lengthwise and scoop out and discard the seeds. Mash the remaining fruit into a smooth paste with the back of a spoon, or give the pulp a quick blast with a hand blender.

5.

Spread the paste over your body, starting with your feet and working upward.

6.

Loosely wrap your body in cling film, winding separate pieces around each leg, each arm and your torso. Lie down on your prepared treatment table and cover yourself with warm towels or your electric blanket. If you're using hot water bottles, carefully place these on top of the towels.

7.

Lie back for 20 minutes as your papaya body wrap smooths away your stresses and rough skin.

8.

Unwrap yourself and step into the shower to wash off the papaya paste. Pat your newly nourished skin dry with a towel.
