Pimples are a pain in the butt. They pop up quickly and take forever to disappear. Over-the-counter treatments can be expensive and make acne worse due to the harsh chemicals. Don’t worry: Your kitchen may have the answer. You can save some serious cash by making your own natural pimple treatments at home.
The purpose of this facial scrub is to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells that can clog pores and lead to pimples. Add about ¼ cup of water to a small amount of baking soda to create a paste. Gently massage the paste onto your skin for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse the baking soda off with water. Don’t allow the baking soda to stay on your face longer than 15 minutes or it may cause irritation.
When life gives you lemons, make an acne treatment. Lemon juice contains vitamin C, which acts as an astringent that will help to dry up pimples. Mix one part lemon juice with one part rose water. Apply it to your face and rinse after 30 minutes. Doing this on a regular basis will not only get rid of acne and pimples, but it also has the effect of lightening acne scars.
Sea salt contains magnesium, iodine, zinc and calcium. These properties will help destroy bacteria that lead to pimple outbreaks. Mix sea salt with warm water and apply it directly to the pimple-affected area with a cotton ball. This mixture will help reduce excess oil, kill bacteria and reduce inflammation. Do not use table salt, for this may cause irritation. Sea salt is also great for exfoliation as the salt grains will help remove the dead skin cells.
Eggs are not just for breakfast anymore! Egg whites will dry the excess oil and start you on the journey of clear skin. Crack an egg and remove the yolk. Beat the egg whites and apply the mixture to the affected area. After about 15 minutes, rinse off the egg-white mixture with lukewarm water and pat your skin dry.
