A short bob can give a girl a fierce sense of chic in a way that nothing else can. Short haircuts that are stacked in the back infuse your hair with sexy shape and height. Called a “stacked” cut because of the way the layers sit on top of each other, this style is one to try when you want an elegant and classy look.

The Bob

An earlobe-length or chin-length bob gives you plenty of styling options for both casual and dressy occasions. When your side bits in front are the longest points with the rest of your hair gradually getting shorter toward the back, you’re sporting a sassy bob with stacked layers in back. Not only do you look effortlessly sharp, but it’s totally voguish, too.

Layered Fun

Get creative with layers for a swanky style that will look smart and stylish. Try a side-swept fringe in front with asymmetrical sides for a trendy look that will get you stares. One side can graze your chin and the other side might just reach your earlobe if you’re brave enough. Long layers over the top of your head can gradually work into the stacked layers in back for a sweet and sassy 'do.

A little texture can make this happen for girls with fine hair, so work some texturizing cream into damp hair. If you fight the frizz, add a little anti-frizz serum and straightening balm to the mix. With this fierce concoction, your hair will have no choice but to obediently assume a coifed and smooth style with layers that move and stack in the back.

After working the styling concoction into your strands from roots to tips, grab the paddle brush and blow dryer and get ready to style. Pull small sections of hair out from your head at 90-degree angles. Aim the blow dryer at your roots and slowly move it over the entire section. Keep going like this to dry your whole head. When you finish, the layers should have plenty of volume and lift. Spritz hairspray lightly to hold the layers tight.
