Short haircuts definitely make a bold statement. The idea of scissors snipping away at the hair may be a bit scary. However, sometimes it's fun to try something new or upgrade an existing hairstyle. The style can be a bob, pixie, or blunt cut. Each works best on certain hair textures and facial shapes. These are no-fuss haircuts that are done without a curling iron or rollers. You get stress-free styling.

Textured Bob

This is a get up and go style that requires little effort. NYC stylist Matt Fugate suggests asking a professional to chop and razor the ends of the hair. This gives the hair a layered look that will swing and move easily. On damp hair, apply volumizing mousse and let it air dry. This cut look great on medium or wavy hair and any facial shape.

Long Pixie

The long pixie haircut is both elegant and sexy. It's considered long because there are longer pieces at the crown along with shorter strands at the side and back of the head. Your fingers play a major role in creating this quick style. Blow dry using your hands instead of a brush to smooth the hair down. Add some nonstick wax or pomade at the end to give the hair hold and a sleek finish. This cut works best on fine and medium hair textures. If you've got a heart- or oval-shaped face, this cut is ideal.

Blunt Cut

This style is definitely for the daring girl because it is a severe cut. It turns straight hair into something totally different. You can try a blunt cut with heavy bangs. The bangs can be combed over the entire forehead or swept to the side. The cut stops near the jawline or ears while the sides are layered and pushed back for a wispy effect. Pull out the pieces of hair on the side with your fingers or a small-toothed comb and spritz with hair spray.

Tousled Pixie

The hair on top of this cut is short and needs lift at the roots. Put a dime-sized amount of styling wax or paste onto your fingertips. Rub them together and begin to style the hair in different directions. Twist some strands upward and smooth other pieces onto the forehead while looking in the mirror. This is a carefree and easy haircut where you create the look you want.
