As celebs from ScarJo to Carey Mulligan know, curly girls can look sultry, sexy or sophisticated with short wedge haircuts. The right cut will flatter your features and be a comfortable length for styling. Whether you have waves like Katherine Heigl or ringlets like Nora Zehetner, cozy up to a short style that accentuates your flirty side.

Curly Wedge

Actress Katherine Heigl rocks a sophisticated curly wedge. One part soccer mom, one part blonde bombshell, this style puts a modern spin on a classic cut. Try it with loose curls or tight ringlets. This cut features longer layers with less gradation between the layers. Wear it back for a casual style or frame layers around your face for a sweet night-out look.

Messy Bob

If you're nervous about going too short, try Scarlett Johansson's medium-length bob cut. You can work this style into a wedge shape by making it shorter in the back and longer in the front. Here, ScarJo blends light layers with her naturally wavy texture for a look that's both sleek and sexy.

Short Bob

If you want to take things shorter, try a short bob or wedge like Nora Zehetner. This style can barely be pulled back, for a messy but sweet style -- check Zehetner -- and takes well to a deep side part. To show off this style, you need a bit of length. Keep it below the ear or take it down to chin length.

Classic Wedge

The classic wedge works well for curly girls, and can give you much-needed volume and fullness. In a wedge, short underlayers of hair plump up the outer layer of hair for a full look.

Bangs or fringe are an important element to short curly hairstyles. Long strands of sloping fringe frame your face. You can wear them down like Carey Mulligan does here, or treat them as additional layers to be styled back a la Katherine Heigl.
