From Snooki's slippers to rave club wear, fluffies have taken over women's ankles. This outlandish accessory is a favorite pick of Harajuku girls in Tokyo's fashion district because it's bright, bold and as furry as your favorite stuffed animal. But don't step outside in fluffies styled with shower shoes. Fluffies may dominate your leg wear, but your footwear should hold its own.

Boots

Remember Uggs? These fur-topped boots and the countless copies they spawned can take the credit for sparking the fluffies trend. Thus, it's only fitting that you top your boots with fluffies. Select a style that sticks closer to your ankle so the fluffies cover the boot top seamlessly. Go Goth in black fluffies and black leather or suede boots or adopt a more colorful, rave-worthy look with brilliant boots and patterned fluffies.

Peep Toe Shoes

Fluffies, essentially extremely furry leg warmers, keep you snug in cool or rainy weather. So it seems illogical to wear them with summery sandals and peep toe shoes. Well, this isn't philosophy class; it's fashion. Let your toes peek out for the world to see, but make sure your pedicure is up-to-date. A brilliant blue or pink polish with metallic shimmer dolls up an ensemble of strappy black sandals and fluffies. For a club vibe, pair fluffies with bright peep toe boots and paint your toenails a complementary color.

Platforms

For a funky look reminiscent of an on-trend woolly mammoth, invest in long-hair fluffies and style them with shoes that have a platform heel. A higher or wider heel works best since you can see more of the shoe beneath the fluffies. With this ensemble, you veer on the side of street style as opposed to sexy, but you can keep your top half looking sleek with a wrap-style dress in a body-skimming fabric.

Special Effects Shoes

Stiletto heels or wicked wedges make you the belle of the ball but cut short your dancing. Choose comfort without sacrificing style by wearing skater shoes or ballerina flats with fluffies but select brands that have special effects. Go op art with shoes in a bold black-and-white pattern and top them with fluffies in a contrasting print or a fluorescent color. Shoes that have glitter, shimmer or sequins shine under club lights. Style a rainbow-hued shoe or one with a bold pattern with brilliant fluffies.
