You don't have to walk down the aisle to wear ivory. Fresh and crisp, ivory looks fantastic with a slew of stylish ensembles and can carry just about any other color. Try an assortment of shoe colors to accentuate your dress, from black to red. A multitude of hues work with an ivory dress and are just chic enough to help you put your best fashion foot forward. Just remember, don't do too much or you risk pushing your dress into the background.
Black
You can never get enough of a good thing. When it comes to shoe colors that go with just about anything, black is that good thing. Pair your ivory evening gown with a pair of black stiletto sandals or try a black wedge with an ivory sundress. The key to making this work properly is to incorporate some other element of black into your outfit, such as a floppy black hat or a black belt with your dress.
Gold
Gold picks up well on the undertones of ivory, which makes it a good fit for a dress of this color. Floating around in an ivory gown and golden sandals might make you feel a bit like a princess at a ball. If you don't believe in happily-ever-after, slip on a strapless ivory cocktail dress and gold pumps with a good 5-inch heel and get to your prince over happy hour. Don't forget to include a fabulously large pair of gold hoop earrings to complete the look.
Red
Red saves any outfit from complete and utter boredom and this light, conservative hue is no exception. Jazz up a simple ivory dress with a touch of red, both on your lips and feet. Go with a deep red lipstick and simple eye make-up. Accessorize with diamond or pearl jewelry and dazzle them again with red peep-toe shoes. Dare to take it a step further by wearing a red pattern, such as snakeskin.
Pale Pink
If the princess at a ball theme sounded good to you, then stay sweet with a pale pink shoe choice. Shorter ivory dresses, with simple embellishments, can carry a pale pink flat or kitten heel. Longer ivory dresses -- more formal in nature -- require a bit more drama for the shoe; get it with a low pump if you are uncomfortable dancing around in stilettos.
