Low-cut shirts are fun to wear when you want sassy and sexy, maybe for a night out or a date, or just to feel good about yourself by showing off a little cleavage. But some women are self-conscious about showing off the goods, or they feel uncomfortable showing too much cleavage at work; it's often considered unprofessional. There are a number of options for women to wear under those low-cut shirts, without showing too much skin but still looking great and put-together.
Camisole
Wearing a straight neck camisole is one option underneath a low cut shirt. Some come with lace trim along the top if you'd like to add a little more detail and draw attention to your neck area. Stay away from V-neck camisoles, because they will just form an equally low cut below your already low-cut shirt and will not solve your problem or showing too much cleavage or skin below the neckline.
Camisole Bra
A camisole bra is a straight-neck camisole but with a built-in shelf bra. Other versions actually have custom-sized bras sewn into the camisole. The ones with actual bras are often not full-length camisoles but half camisoles that end below the bust, sort of like some sports bras. Again, some are decorated with lace at the front, and the bras underneath these half camisoles are virtually invisible, so no bra lines, either.
High Neckline Top
Wearing a top with a high neck compared to the low-cut shirt is also an option, but be careful and accessorize. The look can age you and make one wonder why you're not just wearing the one shirt if you don't accessorize well. Try wearing a longish chain necklace -- possibly even a long layered necklace -- that sits on top of the top underneath but does not reach the opening of the low-cut top, just to break up that block of material over your chest.
Bra and Shapewear Camisole in One
There are full-length camisoles with bra-like support that are also shapewear and great for women who want a more slimming look. There are not low cut, so they provide good coverage under a low-cut shirt. Popular magazines and celebrities have endorsed a brand called Sassybax, a seamless shapewear camisole that eliminates bra bulk because it contains supportive bra cups. The rest of the garment is cut like a fitted camisole, and is meant to be quite figure flattering.
