We know you're probably thinking that there's no way braids can be sexy. But braids aren't just for little girls. There are tons of braided hairstyles that are totally grown-up and super sexy. The key is finding one that works for you. Trust us, the right braided style can totally let out your inner vixen.

Loose Side Braid

If you're not sure a side braid can be sexy, take a cue from "Sports Illustrated" model Marissa Miller, who rocks the style. The key to making a side braid sexy is to keep it loose and intentionally messy. Go the extra mile and softly curl or wave your hair before braiding it. Make your braid loose, and let an inch or two hang free. If a few pieces fall out, don't worry -- it helps your braided look even more fab.

Barely There Braid

Take your side braid the extra mile with this other messy-chic style. This one is sure to keep 'em guessing. Mary-Kate Olsen sported this wavy style with an almost hidden braid. Use a large barrel curling iron to create sexy waves. Next, apply a bit of pomade and beach spray to rough up your hair. Tease the section of hair you're going to braid first. You'll want the majority of your hair to hang loose and wavy for this look to work best.

Make it Asymmetrical

The funkiness of the asymmetrical braid is what makes this look super sexy. Kate Bosworth rocked the style at a "Nylon" magazine party in Los Angeles. To get this trendy look, start by creating a deep side part, and comb hair over. Braid a section of hair on the opposite side along your part. Secure with a couple of bobby pins and you're all set.

Bohemian Braids

Bohemian braids look fab with wavy hair and help to give your locks even more of that sexy body and bounce. Gorgeous actress Minka Kelly loves the look. Once you're curled your tresses, create two small braids along your hairline, pull them back and pin them with a couple of bobby pins.
