Getting older is inevitable, but having older-looking, more wrinkled skin doesn't have to be your fate. Anti-aging skin serums can help minimize the appearance of wrinkles and other nasty signs of the calendar's changes. Unlike skin creams, serums are lighter, which makes them better for girls who have oily or combination skin. Don't forget to bring your driver's license with you the next time you go out with your girlfriends; getting carded at bars is a side effect of regular anti-aging serum use.

BeautiControl Regeneration Platinum Plus Face Serum

It'd be a full-time job for you to test the hundreds of skincare serums for sale in stores. Thankfully, Paula Begoun and her assistants did just that and ranked BeautiControl's serum as one of the top serums on the market from among more than 260 brands. It comes formulated for women ages 50 and more, but don't let that scare you. Girls of any age will benefit, says Begoun, because it's "loaded" with skin-rejuvenating antioxidants and vitamins that may help your skin cells repair themselves. Plus, lightweight moisturizers help your fine lines fill in naturally, as your skin cells become more plump with hydration.

Kinara Lactic Acid Hydrating Serum

Your mom always told you that milk was good for your insides. It can also be good for your outsides, too. The serum from Kinara, ranked by "InStyle" magazine as a "best beauty buy," contains lactic acid, a chemical exfoliant derived from milk. Lactic acid can help resurface your skin, zapping away blemishes and fine lines while encouraging new skin growth. The magazine also praised its use of green tea, which is a natural antioxidant that can help enhance your skin's defenses against wrinkle-causing damage.

VMV Hypoallergenics Re-Everything Eye Serum

They say that your eyes are the window to your soul, so give those windows some special care. VMV's facial anti-aging serum is designed just for those pesky areas around your eyes that are prone to bags, crow's feet, and other symptoms that scream "old and tired!" The editors of "Elle" highlight it in their list of 2010's best beauty products, saying it can help keep your eyes looking their freshest. Helpful ingredients include soy protein, which can help firm up your skin, glycolic acid and moisturizers.

Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum

The editors of "Consumer Reports" note that Olay's anti-aging serum was the best-performing anti-aging treatment available, whether you're looking for budget-friendly drugstore products or expensive designer serums. It performed better at combating signs of aging like wrinkles. It also earned Begoun's approval, thanks to its skin-plumping niacinamide and a "nice complement of moisturizers and antioxidants."
