Looking to change up your style without major commitment? A weave is a fab way to snag a totally new look without subjecting your hair to a cut-and-color or the damaging effects of chemical straighteners and perms. However, when it comes to weaves, there are a ton of different brands on the market. One such company is Sensationnel, which sells a bevy of products for black hair to both professional stylists and everyday gals. Get the dish on what kind of weaves they offer to determine which one, if any, is right for you.
Synthetic
Synthetic hair is a much cheaper option than getting a weave with human hair. However, sometimes you get what you pay for. Synthetic hair isn't going to be as realistic feeling as human hair, and you shouldn't heat-style it. Sensationnel offers two lines of synthetic hair weaves. The Kanubia line consists of 44 weave choices in a variety of styles and colors. All of the weaves are pre-styled. You can use the whole look as is or create your own. The options run from chin-length to well past the shoulders with offering that are straight, wavy or curls of varying tightness. Sensationnel's other synthetic line, Snap!, offers less choice but is also less expensive.
Human
Many gals opt for human hair because it can be heat styled, dyed, cut and washed just like real hair. While human hair tends to be more expensive, it also lasts longer. The bulk of Sensationnel's products are made from human hair, including the Premium line, the Start 2 Finish line, the Bump Collection, the Indian Fire and Water line and the Style 360 line. Different lines offer different pieces. Start 2 Finish, for instance, comes with a nape piece as well as a bang piece. Style 360 comes with a nape piece as well as a free closure. The Bump Collection is created with a pre-styled curve. If you're not sure which line will work best for you, consult a stylist.
Length
Choosing the right length or style of weave is completely dependent on your face shape. Just like with your natural hair, the wrong style can accentuate attributes you'd rather hide. Ladies with oval faces can rock just about any style Sensationnel offers. Gals with square and round faces should opt for weaves that have soft layers, no matter what the length. They should also avoid weaves with blunt cuts that hit at the jawline. The Bump Collection's feathered styles as well as several of Kanubia's layered looks are great for a square or round face. Ladies blessed with high foreheads should try a Sensationnel weave with pretty side-swept bangs.
Color
Choosing the wrong color pf weave can prove to be a total fashion misstep. You don't want to end up looking washed out or rocking something in a wild color that isn't appropriate for work. Most of Sensationnel's products come in a variety of shades. To figure out which shade is best for you, check the color of your veins. If they look blue, this means you have a cool skin tone. If they look green, you're most likely a warm skin tone. Gals with cool skin tones should choose shades that are bluish-black, burgundy, dark brown or ruby. Ladies with warm skin tones can totally rock shades like copper and cinnamon or even golden blonde.
