You want soft, touchable curls that last all day. Scrunching your hair with mousse can help you achieve the enviable curls of your dreams. The right technique goes a long way toward ensuring you have a hair do instead of a hair don't. Get your favorite mousse and get ready to scrunch. The best textures to begin with are wavy to curly.
1.
Begin with freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. It's important that your hair is damp.
2.
Comb through with a wide-tooth comb to work out any tangles.
3.
Section your hair into three to four parts, if it's very thick. You want the mousse to completely cover your hair for the best frizz-free curls.
4.
Squeeze a small amount of mousse into the palm of your hand. The amount of mousse will range from quarter size to lemon size, depending on the length and thickness of your hair. Use each squeeze for one section of hair at a time.
5.
Apply mousse in sections, raking it through with your fingers, all the way to the ends.
6.
Begin at the bottom of your hair and gently squeeze. No need to squeeze tightly or create a fist. Think of squeezing a ripe fruit and apply the same amount of pressure.
7.
Work your way up the section of hair. Allow your hair to air dry to prevent frizzies from forming.
Use a diffuser hair dryer on low heat if you want to dry your hair more quickly.
Use curl-enhancing mousse if you want to create more curls in wavy hair.
Stop blow drying when hair is about 80 percent dry to prevent heat damage.
Avoid high-heat blow dryers as these may cause frizz and will dry out your curls.
