Bleach isn't something you want laying around your house to use for brightening whites. Since it's toxic, if your pets or kids get into it, you're in trouble. It also doesn't do the fibers of your fabric any favors. Over time, it'll break them down and your clothes will wear out faster. Too much bleach can also yellow clothing, instead of whiten. Thankfully there are natural, safe home remedies you can use to make your whites whiter.

1.

Fill bucket half-way up with water.

2.

Pour in lemon juice.

3.

Give it a little stir, or a big stir, to make sure they're mixed together well.

4.

Drop your whites in the bucket. Push them to the bottom and slosh them around, just to be sure the fabric is completely soaked.

5.

Let it sit over night while you're getting your beauty rest.

6.

Take the clothes out in the morning and wash them as usual.
