Shaving, waxing and threading are just a few of the many ways women can get rid of unwanted hair. If you wear sleeveless tops, you probably like to shave or wax your underarms. While you might have stubble-less pits, sometimes there can be a dark discoloration to the skin under your arms. This is usually caused by dead skin, often created by dragging a razor back and forth. To get rid of the shadow, you need to get rid of the dead skin.

1.

Hop in the shower or bath. Make sure the water is warm enough to be steamy, but not scalding hot.

2.

Use a loofah with soap or body wash on it to wash under your arms. Try to scrub the dead, dry skin off.

3.

Squirt out a quarter-sized drop of shaving cream. Apply it generously to your underarms. Using a new razor blade, shave your armpits in all directions. Unlike the hair on other parts of your body, the hair under your arms doesn't grow in one direction. To really get all the hair, you need to shave up, down, left, right and diagonally. Repeat with the other arm.

4.

Get out of the shower and dry yourself of excess water. While your skin is still damp, apply a moisturizer with lactic acid as an ingredient. Lactic acid helps break down dead skin cells.
