Such a little thing -- the black tip at the end of the stiletto heel on your favorite boots -- but it makes the difference between strutting your stuff and wobbling around, scratching the floors wherever you go. Don't worry if one goes missing though, your boots aren't done for. Replace that heel tip in a matter of minutes. With a full closet of flashy heels, it's a skill every woman should add to her repertoire.

1.

Anchor the boot between your knees or hold onto it tightly with one hand. Use the pliers in to grasp the edges of the old heel tip. Wiggle the tip back and forth while pulling on it until it releases and pops out.

2.

Line up the new heel tip with the hole in the boot heel. Press it in as far as you can.

3.

Flip the boot over so that the heel is facing upward and lay it on the floor or somewhere solid. Line the hammer head up squarely with the heel tip and tap it gently to push the heel tip in all the way.

4.

Make sure the heel tip is in securely by knocking the boot on a the ground. Stamp the the heel into the floor several times until the rubber tip is flush with the heel.
