How to Remove Rodolfo Hair Infusions

Hair infusions are fun, but can be messy to remove.

Removing Rodolfo hair infusions can be very difficult. Stylist Mimi Miller -- a hair, image and style expert -- highly recommends having your infusions taken out by an expert. She says that while you may be able to take them out yourself, it can cause damage and is harder than you think.

1.

Decide which hair extension remover is best for your needs. If you won't be visiting a salon anytime soon or won't be having anything done to your hair that involves chemicals, you can use a cream-based remover. Oil-based removers are best if you'll be having a service done within a week of removing the infusion. After choosing, Miller says to soak the hair with the hair extension remover.

2.

Sit under a heated hair dryer for 15 minutes while massaging the cream or oil into the hair infusion. Work as close to the root as possible. This is one reason why going to an expert is recommended.

3.

Comb out the section with a rattail comb at the spot where the extension was attached as the Rodolfo hair infusions begin to loosen.

4.

Shampoo your tresses with a hair extension remover cleanser of your choice. Going with the same brand as your hair extension remover will offer the best results. While shampooing, use your wide tooth comb and comb through your hair to catch any residue buildup.

5.

Use a deep conditioner and sit under the dryer for another 30 minutes to help get your hair back into fabulous shape.

6.

Rinse the conditioner out. If you feel that there is still residue in your hair, repeat the process, beginning with Step 4. Once you're satisfied, blow-dry your strands and style as you normally would.

Tips & Tricks

If you'll be receiving a color service the same week that you'll be removing your Rodolfo hair infusion, Miller recommends using an oil-based hair extension remover.

Cream-based hair extension removers have more chemicals infused in them and may inhibit your color service and potentially cause scalp burns.
