Since 2002, fans of soft and sexy sportswear have turned to Rachel Pally's eponymous clothing line. Featuring a distinctive jersey fabric blend, the Rachel Pally clothing line is known for fabrics draped in figure-flattering shapes. Featuring dresses, tops, pants and swimwear, the line offers options for day and night. The line has grown to include offerings in maternity and plus sizes.
About Rachel Pally
Rachel Pally was a dancer at the University of California at Berkeley prior to launching her fashion line. According to Pally's official website, her love of dance influenced how she designs clothing. Each item is designed to cling to the body and retain a sense of fluidity, reminiscent of the way dancers use their own bodies. Pally's tendency to design clothing in stretch jersey has earned her the nickname as LA's "Jersey Girl." Her designs have attracted such famous fans as Cameron Diaz, Jessica Alba, Oprah Winfrey and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Pally's drapey tops range from buttoned-up to sexy. Although there are occasional pops of prints, Pally's line chiefly features one-color tops inspired by the seasons. For fall, muted yellows, oranges and rust colors are typical, while spring and summer bring pops of purple, turquoise and pinks. Batwing tops, long tunics or deep-V halter tops are line staples. Pally also features accents, like side-gathering on tops or three layers of ruffles on a tank top.
Caftan dresses have been a signature style from Rachel Pally since her first collection launched. In addition to black cami-strap, strapless and long-sleeved dresses, Pally offers a line of bridesmaid's dresses in colors like pink, purple, cream and light blue. Long, Grecian-style dresses with braided jersey ribbons underneath the bust or a one-shoulder accent also are typical of Pally's dresses.
Plus and Maternity Lines
In 2007, Pally launched a plus-size line for women wearing sizes 14 to 22. Known as the Rachel Pally White Label, the line features dresses and tops in jersey fabrics. Examples include long-sleeved jersey dresses cinched in at the waist for a flattering fit. Drape tops are designed to highlight -- not hide -- curves. In addition to the White Label line, Pally also partnered with A Pea in the Pod maternity store to offer maternity clothing options. Examples of maternity clothing include an empire waist dress in Pally's signature soft jersey.
