Skin care is not one size fits all. If you've got oily skin, you probably already know your face is susceptible to breakouts and enlarged pores. Caring for oily skin starts with proper washing. Incorporating this into your daily skin care regimen will help turn your oily skin into the gorgeous, glowing skin you desire. Say bye-bye to the shine and put your best face forward with the right skin cleanser and a few other important tips.

1.

Use the right skin cleanser. Ordinary soap can dry out your skin---your face will respond by producing even more oil. Look for a face wash that contains salicylic acid to help clean pores without over-drying. Avoid cream-based cleansers---they deposit extra oils on skin.

2.

Resist the urge to wash more than twice a day. Odds are you'll have some shine built up during the day, so use blotting paper to diminish oil. Washing every time your skin begins to feel oily will seriously dry out your skin.

3.

Always remove makeup before bed. Sleeping in your makeup will further clog pores and could lead to breakouts, no matter how gentle your makeup. Wash your face thoroughly and be sure all cleanser is rinsed from skin. Use warm water. Pat dry.
