If you're a woman in the military you're at a disadvantage when it comes to hair. No matter what style looks best with your hair type, you can only wear it if it follows the military uniform code for women's hair. Keep it short or hidden and only use accessories that match your hair color to stay within regulations. But you can still look attractive on the job while staying within the rules.
Cut your hair short in a cute pixie cut or a layered bob. You'll be well within regulations while sporting a fun and stylish 'do. Wear a side part or part it in the center, and keep straggling hairs in place with natural-colored bobby pins.
Keep your hair stylish and in place with braids or cornrows. Military women are allowed to wear any style of braids as long as they're done close to the head and don't hang below the collar. Keep the braids in straight lines and avoid swirls or other decorative designs.
If you have straight and slick hair the pageboy may be the ideal military hairstyle. Cut your hair directly above the edge of your uniform collar in back, and keep your bangs barely above the top of your eyebrows. Condition your hair regularly to keep this smooth and sleek hairstyle in top form.
Give yourself the most versatility by keeping your hair long but styling it into a bun while on duty. Make a low ponytail at the nape of your neck and coil it into a flat bun. Secure the bun with hair pins that match your hair color. Make sure the bun doesn't interfere with wearing any uniform hat or cap you may have. When the weekend comes, let your hair down -- literally!
