How to Prevent Rings Turning Your Finger Green

Stick with metal rings and not the green ones your jewelry might leave behind.

Sterling silver jewelry is a fun way to glam up an outfit without breaking the bank. However, as fabulous as that sterling silver ring is, it can turn your lovely fingers a nasty shade of green if you don't take care of it properly. Don't you fret, though! As long as you take a few preventative steps and remember to keep the ring dry and clean, you can rock that look all day and still keep it from leaving an unattractive mark.

Paint a coat of clear nail polish all around the inside of the ring and let it dry before you wear it. This is going to lock in the metals in the ring and keep them from rubbing off on your fingers.

Apply a coat of antiperspirant around your finger where the ring will rest. That same antiperspirant deodorant you use to keep your underarms fresh will help keep your finger from sweating under the ring.

Take off the ring before getting your hands wet in any way (this includes exercising since your hands will likely become damp with sweat).

Dry your hands thoroughly before putting your ring back on. Once those beautiful hands of yours are nice and dry, go ahead and slide the ring back on your finger.
