Looking to get creative with your nails but short on experience? Don't spend your money getting a professional manicure. Instead, learn a few pretty nail designs that are super simple to do. So even if you are a beginner, your nails can look totally professional and perfectly polished.
Hearts
Feel the love with a pretty heart design. It's easier than you might think. All you need is a nail polish and a nail pen. Paint your nails whichever color you like. If you want to keep with the romantic theme, try a pink or red. Then, take your nail art pen -- they come in tons of different shades -- and use it to draw little hearts on your nails. If hearts are too much for you, try polka dots instead.
Stripes
You can use your same nail art pen to create a striped design. Pick your color again -- any shade you like will do. Paint your nails, letting them dry completely before using your nail art pen. Then, draw stripes on your nails going vertically or horizontally -- whichever you prefer is fine.
Color Blocked Nails
Color blocking is fashion-forward and stylish on your clothes. Now try it on your nails. Pick out two colors that you love. Paint half of your nail vertically with one color. Let it dry. Then paint the other half with your second shade. Don't forget to finish your mani with a top coat to keep it from chipping.
Floral
Try a floral print on your nails to really up the feminine factor. Start off with a base shade. Try something soft. A neutral, super-light pink or any pastel shade will work. Let nails dry completely. Now, use a dark pink polish to dot your nails. Add a dot of lighter pink right next to your dark pink. Then, use a toothpick to swirl the two colors together to make them look like flowers. If you want to take it a step further, use a green polish to dot right next to your flowers to create leaves.
