How to Prepare Skin Cream

Love your skin the all-natural way.

Do you gasp when you pick up your favorite skin cream, either from the price tag or the long list of mumbo jumbo you can't possibly begin to pronounce? Your skin cream's price tag is jacked up by the slick packaging and shiny cosmetic counters, while the chemicals and preservatives enable the stuff to sit on the shelves for months. If you're an industrious diva who likes to kick it natural-style, sashay into your kitchen to create a sinfully rich skin cleansing cream that rivals the big brands.

1.

Get busy in the kitchen! Create a double-boiler with two pots. Boil enough water to fill your larger pot, then place a smaller pan inside for your goodies. Place 1 oz. beeswax with 1/8 cup jojoba oil and 1/8 cup grapeseed oil in the smaller pot. Remove the wax and oils from the heat when they are melted. You're halfway there, Chef.

2.

Add 1/4 cup of lavender water or rosewater, 1 tsp. glycerin, 1 tsp. borax, 1 tsp. wheatgerm oil and 10 drops rose or lavender essential oil to the wax mixture and and blend with a hand-held electric mixer or blender. Thick and creamy is how you roll.

3.

Use a spatula to remove the cream and place it in a small jar with a lid.

4.

When the mixture cools, get ready for some creamy face time. Apply your luxe cream to your face and neck with your fingers. Massage well. Enjoy the experience.

5.

Rinse the cream off your face with warm water, then pat yourself on the back for creating a rich and delish skin treatment all by your lonesome.

6.

Cap your cream tightly and store it in the fridge.
