1.
Dampen a soft toothbrush with lukewarm water. Sprinkle just enough brown sugar on the toothbrush to coat the bristles.
2.
Brush your lips for two minutes, using a circular motion. The combination of brown sugar and the toothbrush’s bristles helps to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells from your lips. The brushing also improves circulation, kickstarting the plumping process.
3.
Apply a drop of cinnamon leaf essential oil to your pointer finger. Rub your finger over your lips. Feel the tingle? This tingling is actually the cinnamon doing its job -- causing minor irritation to your lips, which results in a temporary plumping action.
If you use a liquid lip gloss, add a drop or two of cinnamon leaf oil to the container.
A dab of petroleum jelly soothes the tingle and adds shine to your lips.
Avoid brushing your lips vigorously with the toothbrush. Doing so can cause lip irritation. Gentle, circular motions are all that is necessary.
