Long and luxurious locks can be beautiful, but they can also be a nuisance. Sometimes you need a cute and functional way to keep the hair out of your eyes. Headbands can slip off your head if they're too loose or hurt your scalp if they're too tight. Luckily, it's easy to make a headband out of your own hair using the French braiding method. This 'do can be dressed up or down, so it's perfect for weekend softball or going out for drinks with friends.
1.
Part your hair horizontally, about 2 inches back from your forehead, going from ear to ear. Comb the front section forward so that it falls over your face and secure the back section with a rubber band.
2.
Comb the front section of your hair from left to right so that it hangs down over the right ear. Your hair may be reminiscent of the '80s side ponytail at this point, but it won't stay that way for long.
3.
Divide the hair by your left ear into three pieces. Bring the left piece over the middle piece then the right piece over the middle.
4.
Bring the left piece over the middle again, gathering some more hair into the braid. Bring the right piece over the middle again, pulling a little more hair into the braid. Repeat this process until the braid is finished and all of the hair in the front of your head is included.
5.
Finish the braid on the right side of your head, securing it with a hair rubber band. You're now rocking a look that has been worn by tons of famous fashionistas, including Lauren Conrad.
