Your super-sized and oh-so-cozy scarf that keeps you toasty all winter might show signs of wear if you don it often. In fact, the softer the scarf's yarn, the more likely you'll be dealing with wear issues such as pilling. Pills are those ugly little round fluff balls that sit on the surface of knit fabrics. Get pilling off a large knit scarf with a steady hand and attention to detail.

1.

Snip those nasty little pills off with scissors whenever they show up. Grab a scissors with small, sharp blades and cut the pills off flush with the surface of the scarf.

2.

Grab a razor and give your scarf a careful shave. Lay out the scarf on a flat surface and carefully skim the razor along the knit fabric to cut the pills off.

3.

Try masking tape for a quick fix. Wind masking tape around your fingers with the sticky side facing out. Blot at the pills on the scarf with the sticky tape to pull them off.

4.

Invest in a depiller to keep the pills off your scarf. Lay out the scarf on a flat surface. Pop in batteries and turn on the depiller. Skim the rotating blades of the depiller lightly over the scarf surface to remove all the fuzzies.
