If you're spilling out of your shirt or feel a little too tight in your every day bustier, it may be time to update your bra collection. Find comfort, fit and style for a variety of padded bras that will make your girls happy. Head to the department store to find the best padded bras that will fit your style, attitude and unique shape.
Making the Right Selection
You'll have to brush up on your bra lingo before you go navigating the lingerie section for a great padded bra. For a revealing look, try a demi or balconet bra. For full coverage try a T-shirt bra, or for a bit of a sexy lift, get into a push-up. For an enhanced bust you'll want to look for some extra padding with lift; for a relaxed and comfortable look, feel your selections for lighter padding.
Before you run out and grab the prettiest padded bra, it's vital that your bra actually fits. Seventy to 85 percent of women wear a bra that's too small or too big -- bad news for your breasts. To give your ladies the right support, see a bra specialist at your local lingerie store or measure yourself for accurate sizing. Using a soft tape measure, place the tape right beneath your breasts. Add five to the number that fits you snugly but comfortably -- that's your band size. Next, while wearing a bra, measure completely around the fullest part of your bust. Subtract that number from your band size to find your cup size. Zero is an AA, one is an A, two is a B and so on.
Creme of the Crop
For great coverage, sexy shapes and soft touches, shoot for bras voted best in their class for enhancing, covering and supporting your chest. Victoria's Secret Angels Secret Embrace bra has a molded cup with an under wire for a seamless feel and extra lift. "Glamour" magazine mentioned Affinitas Intimates bra collection to emphasize your natural look without adding anything that's not real. For bustier beauties, Lily of France Microfiber Wire-Free Bra is a great contoured bra that's soft, has light padding and won't show through your favorite graphic tee.
Taking Care of Your Bra
Once you've found your perfect padded bra, get long-lasting wear by caring for it properly. The best way to wash your bras is to hand-wash them in cold water with a delicate detergent. If you decide to machine wash your bras, stick them in a lingerie bag, put them on a gentle cycle and let them air dry.
