Dress up a casual look with a statement-making jacket. This classic trick can turn jeans, a T-shirt and simple flats into a drool-worthy ensemble that's perfect for breakfast at the local patisserie. Try a leopard print jacket, cut either in a motorcycle style or a windbreaker for extra impact, and layer it over a loose white T-shirt and a pair of indigo skinny jeans. For extra warmth add a cashmere v-neck sweater under your jacket, a slouchy knit hat and a thick scarf, all in neutral colors. To keep yourself warm, choose a classic pea coat in a light color, such as camel or salmon, and sweater tights in a deep shade — plum or forest green, for examples. Wear your hair in long, loose waves or a messy, undone side braid. And don't forget the earmuffs.

A chunky wool sweater isn't always the first image you think of when you're imagining a chic Parisian outfit. Choose an oversized sweater with a large graphic image or stripes and pair it with vibrant cropped trousers. Choose the color of your trousers by the color that's the least represented on your sweater. It will brighten your look. Add heeled booties, dark socks and a black swing coat and you're ready for Fashion Week.
