You're uber-pumped for your glamour portfolio shoot. Hey, what girl wouldn't be? You get to prace around and pose and have your picture taken. There's nothing wrong with that. It's probably not going to turn out as you want it to look, though, if you're not dressed the part. Unless you're a sought-after celeb who has designers offering you their goodies for your shoot -- lucky you, yes you, Rihanna and Jessica Alba -- you must come up with a few different outfit ideas to flaunt your beauty so you can really strut your stuff at the shoot. Work it!
Dress and Heels
A dress and heels is the quintessential outfit idea if you're headed to a glamour shoot to get some pictures to add to your portfolio. It doesn't matter if you're pin-thin or a plus-sized girl, if you're in the modeling biz you must be comfortable and confident with your body, and one of the best ways to show it off is in a fitted dress and some hot heels. The length of dress depends on your personal preference and the style of pictures you're after, but body-conscious is key here, so no paper sacks, OK?
Strapless Shirt
Whether you opt for a tube top or even just an off-the-shoulder top, leaving your neck and shoulders bare is a good idea when you're headed to a glamour shoot. Particularly for close-up shots, namely a head shot, this style of shirt shows off the angles of your jaw and neck, because there isn't anything taking away from it. That means the pictures will focus on that pretty face of yours, instead of anything else. Wear the shirt with a pair of black dress pants or a fancy, poufy skirt and some sky-high heels to really glam it up.
Sweater Dress
A sweater dress is a nice outfit to wear to a glamour photo shoot, if you want something more comfortable but that's still dressed up enough. Opt for a shorter dress and your highest heels -- talk about elongating and toning your legs -- and finish off your look with the right accessories. A few strands of sparkling necklaces and bangle bracelets will work just right.
Cami
A lace or satin camisole top -- paired with a pair of dress pants or even some dark wash jeans -- works for a glamour photo shoot. A lace cami is glamourous but still keeps you covered up so you don't feel underdressed. Add some chunky, glitzy jewelry and you're instantly a sparkling, stunning supermodel queen.
Tips
While you're considering the different outfits to wear for your glamour photo shoot, also take other factors into consideration. That includes your body type, for one thing. Every girl has certain features she'd rather cover up and others worth emphasizing. It's important to choose outfits that play up your beauty, not take away from it, and that make you feel comfortable and confident. Also, don't forget to practice your facial expressions and body posing -- study some of your favorite fashion mags and watch a few runway shows so you're totally ready and can rock that shoot like a supermodel.
