So you've got the cute little dress, but you're wondering how to pull it off (without your girls hanging out, that is). To feel comfortable in that hot little number, it might be time to update your bra wardrobe --- or do a little tinkering with the bras you own.

Go Strapless!

Strapless bras give you the shape and coverage you need without you having to deal with straps peeking out of your clothing. Get fitted before you pick out a strapless bra, since the wrong size can translate into a night of fidgeting and adjusting. Note that you bigger busted beauties may not find strapless bras so comfortable, since they won't give you the same support given by a bra with straps.

Pasties and Adhesives

Bras that stick to your girls can be that perfect compromise between wearing a bra and going braless. Since they're adhesive, pasties won't slide around all night, but they'll give you the coverage you need to feel confident. Pasties are great if you're comfortable with the shape of your breasts when you're braless, since they only cover the nipple. Other adhesives give a little more coverage and shape so you don't feel so naked under your formal wear.

Adjustable Straps

Some bras come with removable or adjustable straps that let you create your own style. Depending on the cut of your dress, you may be able to create a racerback bra (where both straps meet in the middle of your back, creating an "x") or simply remove one strap and leave the other one on. Have an old bra you don't mind modifying? If so, cut one strap off, or turn it into a racerback bra by pulling together both straps in the back and tying a strong thread around them.

Bra Color

Regardless of the bra you choose, make sure you pick a color that won't reveal your sexy little secret. Picking a color that closely matches your skin is a best bet: in truth, a white bra may actually show more under a light colored dress than a colorful one! Opt for a nude bra, which renders your lingerie basically invisible on most skin types. Go a bit darker, like brown or black, if your skin is on the chocolate end of the spectrum, or if your dress is black.
