What Natural Product Makes Your Under Eye Lighter?

If you prefer to dab homemade and natural products on your eyes instead of harsh medications, you can create homemade lotions and potions that will give your under eye skin a healthy boost. To instantly uplift your eyes, smooth on these natural eye-lightening products to reduce the appearance of darkened skin and give your eyes a youthful glow.

Carrot-Infused Natural Eye Cream

The carrots in Narine Nikogosian's homemade Carrots 'n Creme mixture helps to rejuvenate tired eyes. While the sour cream and the cottage cheese in the natural potion also act as a lightening agent under the eyes. Whip up the cream by combining 1/2 teaspoon of sour cream and 1/2 teaspoon of cottage cheese in a small bowl. Mix in a 1/2 teaspoon of carrot juice to power up your cream with anti-inflammatory properties and say goodbye to puffy eyes. Wash your face with lukewarm water, and dab this skin-smoothing cream under your eyes before bedtime.

Fresh Figs and Cucumber Slices

If your dark under eye circles are due to heredity, stress, aging or allergies, give your skin its fruits. Split a whole fig in half with a knife. Wipe your face with a clean cloth dampened with lukewarm water. Close both eyes. Place the two figs pieces on your eyelids with the inside part of the figs resting on your skin. Leave the figs on your lids for 20 minutes -- no peeking. If you don't have figs available, place thin slices of cucumbers on your closed eyes for 10 minutes. These wonder fruits provide additional moisture to plump up your skin and reduce dark areas under the eyes.

Potato Creme

Don't forget the veggies for your skin either. You can also lighten your under eye skin with a creamy mask made from, of all things, potatoes. Reduce a freshly-peeled potato to a liquid in a food processor. Combine 1 teaspoon of Castor oil and 1 teaspoon of sour cream with the potato juice in a bowl. Smooth the creamy mixture on your freshly-washed skin just like you would your favorite eye cream, and give your eyes a much-needed overnight sleep. Scoop the remaining mixture in a small jar -- no sense wasting the leftovers! The potato eye creme keeps for five days in the fridge.

Royal Saffron Mask

Saffron is a spice that can remove dead skin cells and help banish dark circles under the eyes. To create a saffron mask, combine 1 tablespoon of chickpea powder, 1 tablespoon of ground almond, 10 strands of saffron, 1 teaspoon of sandalwood powder and 1/4 cup of lukewarm milk in a medium-sized bowl. Mix these ingredients together until you create a paste. Wash your face with warm water. Place the saffron mask on the under eye area using your fingertips. Flip on your favorite TV show, or listen to your favorite tunes, and let the mask remain on the skin for 15 minutes or until it hardens. Remove the mask with warm water and a small damp face towel. Pat your skin dry gently with a towel and relish in the beautiful glow of your freshly pampered peepers.
