Natural Oils That Open Up Facial Pores

Facial oils, sometimes called serums, are used to moisturize the skin, open up the pores and rid the skin of impurities. Different oils have different properties, so you should choose an oil that suits your skin type, whether you have oily or dry skin. While you can purchase costly products that incorporate jojoba oil, rosehip oil and other ingredients, natural oils provide the same benefits at a purse-friendly price, leaving you money to spend on a new bag rather than the bags under your eyes.

Oil Cleansing

Oil cleansing replaces chemical laden and soap-based skin cleansers with natural oils. You will use a combination of at least two oils to clean your skin. Castor oil helps to cleanse the skin and reduce inflammation, but can be drying. Pair ten percent to 30 percent castor oil with a base oil, like olive oil or sunflower seed oil, depending upon your skin type. You may add other oils to your base oil blend for additional benefits. Gently massage your oil blend into your skin, then use a steaming hot washcloth to help the oils open your pores and remove any impurities.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is a wax ester produced from the seed of the jojoba tree. This oil is the closest to the natural oils produced by your skin. Jojoba oil moisturizes the skin and may help to reduce natural oil production if you have oily skin. Use a few drops of jojoba oil on clean skin or add jojoba oil to your oil cleansing mixture. If you have oily skin, you won't need an additional moisturizer. Jojoba oil can help to keep your skin clear and pretty, without the dryness caused by many oily skin treatments.

Rosehip Oil

If your skin is quite dry, rosehip oil can provide intense moisturizing benefits. You can use rosehip oil to cleanse your skin, allowing steam to open your pores or massage it into your skin after you wash your face. Rosehip oil will help to relieve irritation in delicate facial skin, taking away redness or the signs a late night on the town. Follow rosehip oil or a serum containing rosehip oil with your usual moisturizer.

Avocado Oil

Rich and nourishing avocado oil is ideal for if you're concerned about fine lines and wrinkles. Like other oils, it will help to clear away impurities in your pores, so if you're battling both age and blemishes, going for an anti-aging oil can help keep your both at bay. Use avocado oil alone or with a gentle moisturizer, depending upon how dry or oily your skin is.
