As the busy woman on the go that you are, each day your skin may face air pollution, free radicals, sweat and possibly a daily dose of makeup. To maintain clear skin, your pores depend on you to keep them clean and clear by cleansing properly. A little clarity can go a long way in maintaining beautiful skin.

De-gunk Your Skin

As you go about your daily routine each day wearing makeup, walking outside and possibly sweating while you work out, buildup can occur in your pores. Cleansing your skin is an absolute must to prevent breakouts and other not-so-pretty skin issues from making their appearance on your face. Using the right products will help to clarify your skin. Clarifying the skin is essentially clearing away dirt and buildup while also maintaining skin that is free of acne and breakouts.

Clarifying Cleansers

It's important to remember that when it comes to washing your face, overdoing it is a no-no. Cleansing your face too often can confuse your skin and make it think that it needs to produce more oil in order to compensate for the lack of it. Using the right cleanser twice a day should be sufficient. Choose a cleanser with lactic acid. Lactic acid is a mild cleansing agent that will help to gently cleanse the pores while keeping acne at bay.

Clarifying Toners

Don't leave behind a trace of makeup when your head hits the pillow. This is where toner comes in. It makes sure that nothing is left behind and it gives your skin an added boost after cleansing. As Paula Begoun, the "Cosmetics Cop," points out, toners that are water-based and contain ingredients such as antioxidants can deliver clarity and radiance to your skin. Steer clear of toners that contain harsh and non-beneficial ingredients such as alcohol, glycol or citrus.

Clarifying Masks

A great facial mask treatment can work like a tuneup for your skin. The right facial mask can deliver deep cleansing and clarifying ingredients to your skin like a great once-in-a-while maintenance routine. Masks can work as oil-absorbing agents while delivering vitamins and nutrients to your skin. Slather on a mask with ingredients such as glycerine for excess oil absorption and grapeseed oil for antioxidants. Relax in a hot bath while a mask does all the work for your skin!
