Go for dramatic, smoky eyes.

Bright, neon green isn't the easiest color to pull off. When it comes to makeup choices, difficult neon shades can stump even the savviest makeup aficionado. So what makeup should you wear with black and neon green clothes? It all depends on what kind of vibe you're going for. Whether you want to play up your look or stay subtle, you've got options.

Smoky Eyes

Add a splash of drama to your eyes with a classic smoky eye look. It'll totally pop against the neon green, and it'll also play with the black in your outfit. First things first: line your upper and lower lids with black eyeliner and smudge it up. Then fill in your upper lids with super-dark eyeshadow in black or dark gray. Work up with your makeup brush, blending as you go, until you get to the crease. Top it off with a thick coat of jet-black mascara and a sheer nude lip.

Go Metallic

Get edgy with a metallic hue. If your outfit is bold, then you might as well go bold with your makeup, too. Play up that extreme neon green with metallic silver eyeshadow -- it matches both green and black, but it's far from boring. Choose light, shiny silver shadow to make your eyes shine like crazy, or pick a darker, more pewter-colored shade to contrast the brightness of your neon clothes.

Natural Makeup

Maybe you already feel bold enough in your neon and green clothes, and you don't want to go overboard. No problem. In that case, keep it simple. A subtle, natural makeup look won't compete with your clothes -- it'll just brighten up that pretty face. Dust on a little powder to control shine, a coat of brown or black mascara and maybe a hint of rosy blush on the apples of your cheeks. Sweep some gloss on your lips, and you're done.

Get Crazy

Smoky eyes and metallic aren't bold enough for your neon-green and black ensemble? Then you've gotta push the envelope, you wonderful freak. Why not go all the way with neon makeup to match your neon clothes? Swipe a coat of neon eyeshadow on your lids for a totally out-there look -- just don't pick the same, matchy-matchy green shade. Try a contrasting yet complementary color, like vivid neon yellow, pink or purple. One warning: If you go for this, keep your lips nude so you don't end up with clown face.
