Wavy hair is so sexy. It's natural and carefree while maintaining an air of sophistication. But as drop-dead gorgeous as it is, wavy hair can be tricky to style; for girls who aren't full-on curly, it usually loses its texture and falls limp in a matter of hours. Don't get stuck with flat, half-wavy hair any longer! Bring out your waves to the fullest with one key styling product: mousse. Let your natural texture shine through with these key tips.
1.
Lather up with a wave- or curl-enhancing shampoo, then rinse. Follow with a conditioner in the same product line, and rinse thoroughly.
2.
Spritz a heat-protectant spray onto your locks. Rake a wide-tooth comb through your strands to unfurl knots.
3.
Dispense a puff of volumizing mousse into the palm of your hand. For thick or coarse hair, you'll need a pouf roughly the size of a tennis ball; for fine or thin hair, use 3/4 of that amount. Scrunch the mousse into your hair from roots to ends, thoroughly coating all of your hair. If you need more mousse, use it!
4.
Scrunch your hair as you blow dry. Using a diffuser attachment on your hairdryer brings out any natural waviness that you have in your hair texture. Make sure hair is totally dry; any dampness will lead to major frizz.
5.
If you want to emphasize more waves, twist a few random sections of hair around a curling iron with a 1.25-inch barrel. Do this only a few times around your head, as the curling iron will create too-perfect curls; you want the look to be natural.
6.
Polish your look with a shot of hairspray or a finishing cream. This will tame flyaways, combat frizz during the day and keep your hair looking gorgeous!
