So over your super straight strands? Add a little bend to your boring 'do to give yourself a bouncy new look. You've got a lot of options for making waves in this world -- even hair waves. Although there are plenty of ways to add waves to your hair; you don't necessarily need expensive equipment such as curling irons to conquer this style. One of the simplest ways to wave is to bust out a modern styling staple -- the basic round brush.

1.

Get your locks wet and comb them all out. Don't soak the hair; just make sure it's damp.

2.

Pour out a small handful of your styling product of choice and work it into your hair with your fingers. Gel is easiest, but you can also use setting lotion or mousse if you've got a preference.

3.

Comb your hair out again, spreading the product through the strands.

4.

Turn on that hair dryer and do a quick run over your head, just to take a little of the dampness away. This will make it easier to create the waves you want. Comb your hair again and part it the way you like.

5.

Clip most of your hair to the top of your head, leaving a small section at the nape of your neck. Wind this section around the round brush just like you would a hair roller.

6.

Dry the section by holding the hair dryer close to the hair and slowly unwinding the brush as you dry. Keep winding and unwinding the hair onto the brush until the section is completely dried.

7.

Repeat Step 6 all over your head, until your hair is completely dry and fabulously curled.

8.

Run your fingers through your hair to loosen up the waves. If you think your hair won't hold the curl, give it a quick misting of hairspray.

Tips & Tricks

To make a dramatic wave in your hair, keep the hair sections on the brush longer while you dry.
