The secret behind a fresh, glowing complexion is healthy skin. Makeup can give the illusion of a dewy face but the best way to get skin that glows without makeup is to treat your skin right and give it what it needs to shine. Whether you're not in the mood for makeup or you just like to rock the natural look, make your face look fresh by adopting healthy skin practices.

1.

Wash your face with a mild facial cleanser. Use one that is suited to your specific skin type. Avoid harsh detergents and over-drying formulas as these can strip your face of natural oils making it dull and lackluster. Use cool water while washing as hot water zaps moisture.

2.

Exfoliate your skin using a gentle exfoliant. Massage the exfoliant into your skin, and then rinse thoroughly. This removes dead skin cells to reveal fresh, glowing skin while stimulating new skin cell growth.

3.

Smooth a rich moisturizer over your face and neck. Skin that is hydrated looks plump, supple and glowing. Look for a product rich in antioxidants and fatty acids. These ingredients improve skin's appearance.

4.

Protect your face with a thin layer of sunblock. The sun's rays age your face and cause brown spots, wrinkles and fine lines. Keep your face fresh by blocking out those harmful rays.

5.

Pop a multivitamin every day. Vitamins C, A, and B are super important for keeping skin looking its best. The easiest way to make sure you're getting all the vitamins you need is to take a multivitamin each day.

6.

Sip tea. Brew a pot and sip it throughout the day. Tea is loaded with antioxidants which fight off free-radical damage. That means skin stays fresher and looks more youthful.

7.

Spritz your face with an herbal hydrosol throughout the day. Moist skin is better equipped to fight off wrinkles and pollutants. A quick misting also keeps your natural oils locked in and gives your skin a quick pick-me-up.
