Sometimes you want to be a little bit fancy. If you've got a swanky event to go to, or if you just want to glam up your look, try a cute and dressy hairstyle. Some fancy styles are much easier to create yourself than you might think, so whip out your hair products and get to styling!

Start with a fantastic blowout to make your hair full and shiny. Dry freshly washed hair using a blow dryer and paddle brush. Make hair even smoother by drying hair in smaller sections. If you have very frizzy hair, after blow drying, use a flat iron to smooth it further.

Add some gorgeous curls to your tresses. If you have longer hair, use a large-barrel curling iron. If your locks are shorter, go with a medium-barrel one. Wrap sections of hair around your curling iron, holding it vertically. Once all hair is curled run your fingers gently through it to break your curls up.

Add a dollop of smoothing serum to hair, incorporating it thoroughly. Mist your locks with hair spray to keep your curls in place. Wear your hair parted in the middle or in a deep side part for a more dramatic look.

Leave your hair curled, or take it further and work an updo. If you decide to wear your hair down and want to glam it up a little more, try adding a sparkly comb and using it to push your locks back.

Try a loose chignon. Not only is this style easy to pull off yourself, it's totally elegant. Your curled hair gives you a great starting point that'll make your chignon full and pretty. Just gently pull your hair back and twist it loosely into a bun shape, securing it in place with bobby pins.

Embellish your updo if you like. Try a sparkly or otherwise decorative headband or add a few sparkly bobby pins to your look to make it even more fancy.
