How to Make Cream Eyeliner Not Dry Out

Revive your cream eyeliner.

Cream eyeliners can put a real dent in your wallet, especially if they dry out and you have to pitch them before you use 'em all up. With a little creativity, though, you can quit throwing away half-empty jars and revive your old, crumbly eyeliner. All you have to do is make a simple cream using products you likely already have in your medicine cabinet or beauty bag -- when you do, the eyeliner soaks up moisture and comes right back to life.

1.

Scrape your product out of its jar with a blunt knife and put it in a coffee mug -- make sure you get all of it out.

2.

Squirt two to three eye drops into the mug and stir it with a toothpick. Make sure that it's all blended smooth, without any dry clumps hanging around in the mix. If you don't have eye drops, squirt in one or two drops of makeup mixing liquid -- the stuff you use to make liquid liner -- and microwave the mug for 10 seconds before you stir it all up.

3.

Scoop the cream back into its original pot and pad it down in with the bristles of a makeup brush or a cotton swab. Screw the lid back on.

If you add too much liquid, the mixture goes from creamy to runny. Use the absorbent end of a cotton swab to sop up any excess liquid from your mix as you stir it up.
