Either you're lucky and you got it naturally, or you worked hard for it and want to keep it. Gorgeous long hair really ups your game, but to stay at the top, you need to keep it long and strong. Making and keeping small changes to your beauty regime will help keep hair moist and prevent breakage that can ruin your 'do. Maintaining luscious long hair is a constant battle, but it pays off big to keep you looking top notch.
1.
Trim your ends every eight to 10 weeks. When long hair splits at the end there's nothing you can do. Getting your ends trimmed keeps you looking groomed without sacrificing the length, so how about them apples?
2.
Eat the nutrients your hair needs to keep it growing strong and healthy. Get protein from meats, nuts, beans and eggs, beta-carotene from green or yellow veggies and fruits and B vitamins. Take a multivitamin if you're on the go too often to regulate and your hair will stay strong when you need it!
3.
Demo your hair handling IQ to score big, ladies! Comb wet hair, using a wide-toothed comb. Work out tangles with detangler spray or leave-in conditioner. Brush dry hair with a high quality brush. Style your hair, and then try not to touch it. Fidgeting and flicking weaken hair. When you put up your locks, make sure you're using quality hair elastics and accessories that won't snag and tear hair.
4.
Wash your hair using shampoo and conditioner designed for your type, as often as you need to keep it looking healthy, not dull. Give hair a moisture boost once a month -- more often if your hair is dry -- with a deep conditioning or hot oil treatment. Dry hair breaks more easily, so packing in the moisture keeps your locks long.
5.
Be gentle when blow drying, flat or curl ironing your hair or giving other hot treatments. Heat sets styles but dehydrates hair. Use heat protectant to shield your locks and go au natural now and then.
