It wouldn't be winter without chicks in peacoats, which are a cute and stylish alternative to thick, clunky jackets. However, looking cute in a peacoat isn't as easy as it sounds. If your peacoat doesn't fit properly, it might still keep you warm, but you certainly won't look hot. Fear not. With the proper fit and a few glam accessories, you can look absolutely adorable in this cold-weather staple.
1.
Rock a peacoat that fits properly. The bottom of your coat should sit on the bottom of your curvy hips. Any shorter and the coat will look bulky. Any longer and it will make you look short and stubby.
2.
Wear a coat that shows off your figure. If your body looks like a boring rectangle when you wear the coat, toss it aside for one that shows off your sexy figure. Look for a coat with a visible waist. Without it, your jacket will make you look like you've put on a few pounds.
3.
Accessorize your coat with a scarf to give your neck a bit of warmth and your look a bit of extra style. Wrap a bright-colored scarf around your neck and let the ends hang down over the coat. Or, wrap the scarf several times around your neck and tuck the ends of the scarf inside the jacket so that others see only what's around your neck.
4.
Don a cute hat. Hats are the perfect complement to peacoats. Knitted berets, beanies and even ski hats fitted with ear flaps and pom-poms look oh-so-adorable with peacoats. But although the hats are cute, they can make your hair look a hot mess. Carry a brush and a mirror around with you when you wear a hat and plan on taking it off in public.
