If you need a break from perfectly polished locks, try an uber-chic alternative and rock your long hair in a piecey style. The purposely undone look is incredibly trendy and can be worn in tons of different and stylish ways, all of which make your long hair look even more amazing.

Piecey Ponytail

Try rocking a messy ponytail. Start by curling hair in sections with a large barrel curling iron. Be sure to hold the iron vertically to create ringlets. Once the curls are cooled, run your fingers through them to loosen them up a bit, then pull your hair into a side ponytail at the nape of the neck. Take a styling paste and rub it on your fingers before rubbing it into your hair. Twirl the pieces with your fingers to break up your curls and you're all set.

Get Edgy

Try super-straight, piecey locks to up the edge factor. Start by applying a lightweight gel to dampen your hair before blow drying. Take a hair wax, rub it on your fingers and apply it to your hair, using your fingers to twirl and break up sections of hair to your liking.

Braid It

Get even more trendy by rocking your hair piecey in braids. Try applying volumizer to dry hair. This is what makes it piecey. Then braid your hair, securing it with an elastic band, leaving about 2 inches loose. Pull your braid to the crown of the head or wear it at the nape of the neck. Tug the braid a little to loosen it and make your style a little messy.

Natural Beachy Waves

Beachy waves can be incredibly glamorous. Try them without using a curling iron to get there. Just spritz damp hair with leave-in conditioner or beach spray and let it air dry. Your hair will dry piecey and gorgeous. If you want more waves, twist damp hair into a bun after spraying it. Once the hair is dry, remove your bun for beachy, piecey waves.
