If you are in the bottom curvy crowd amongst Hollywood hotties Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez, you may be apprehensive about wearing an all-white dress. White tends to expand the area it covers, making that region seem fuller and bigger. You can still wear a little white dress without it overemphasizing your hips, you just have to learn what styles suit your stunning shape and complement your vivacious curves.
Top Embellished
A top-embellished dress is a dress that has added embellishment or designs on the top half. This includes dresses that have sequins and frills. Many popular styles have frilled shoulders. If you are bottom curvy, it is likely that your shoulders are narrower. Adding frills or padding to shoulders or sequins to your bust is a good way to create more balance in your look, an even out your curvy bottom.
Halter Neck
Your little white dress will be totally appropriate with a flirty halter neck. This style gives your shoulders more exposure and draws the eye line up. It also plays up the bust area and emphasizes the arms. Choose a halter-neck dress with a flowing skirt and nipped-in waist. Do not opt for a tightly fitted skirt, as this will highlight lumps and bumps.
Wrap Dresses
Going for a sophisticated wrap dress will emphasize your waist and smooth the hip area. Wrap dresses usually have sleeves, and a V-neck. These features help to keep eyes focused on your upper half while disguising your lower half.
Trapeze or Empire Cut
A trapeze- or Empire-cut dress has a high waist line that brings the eye line up towards your face, and away from the bottom region. This shape of dress will shrink heavy hips and create a flowing, loose look around this area. Go for an Empire- or trapeze-cut dress with a fitted bodice to really suck in your thinner waist.
