Porcelain doll, you're so delicate and fair. Your skin is white with a pinkish hue due to the blood vessels underneath. Don't worry. You needn't rush to the mirror in horror expecting to see Frankenstein veins. But unless you're rocking a goth style, you'll want to stick to light, fresh and natural-looking makeup, including the stain on your lips, to avoid being overpowered by your makeup.
Just Say No to Dark Shades
Fair-skinned girls should avoid bright pinks and superdark shades such as bronze and mocha. They are much too dark and extreme against your pale skin. If you want to rock a deeper shade, TV makeup maven Carmindy suggests going with the deeper shade you like, but opting for the hue in a transparent blend or lip gloss so it isn't so heavy.
Pinks
Bobbi Brown, makeup mogul extraordinaire, likes soft, blushy, pastel tones to brighten up a pale complexion. Rock a sugary or warm pink to help liven up your color. Look for light-to-medium tones of pinks and roses. Nude or transparent mauves look stunning on fair skin. If you like, slick on a bit of gloss or balm for a sexy shimmer.
Peaches and Burgundy
Peachy browns, shell tones, sands and nude peaches are all lipstick shades that complement porcelain skin tones. Look for a sheer, rich burgundy shade that shines on your English Rose complexion.
Beauty Bonus
Lip color is extremely personal. Whatever shade you pick for your lovely porcelain skin, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable in the lips you're wearing. While no shade works for every skin type, whatever you put on your face --- if you rock it with confidence --- your color will go a long way to boost your beauty factor.
Sheer or Cream
Your lip color will be more mistake-proof if you choose a sheer color. Casual looks work well with clear, nude and glossy lips, while dressy looks work best with more pigment in sheer creams, glazes or tints.
