We all feel self-conscious about one part of our bodies or another. Of course we should all feel proud of our looks. All women are beautiful, and confidence is sexy. Still feeling insecure? Maybe you think your calves are too big. If putting on a dress fills you with doubts, you really can find a skirt length that's flattering. Make your calves look slimmer with just a few simple wardrobe tricks.
Minidress or Tunic with Leggings
Wear a mini-dress -- no, we're not kidding! -- or a thigh-length tunic with a pair of leggings. Dark, solid colors are slimming, so make the leggings monochromatic -- black, navy, dark purple. Do not -- repeat, not -- pull on a pair of patterned leggings. If you want to go for sex appeal, black lace will look smashing, but make sure the lace is tightly woven so it looks almost solid. On your tootsies, wear high-heeled ankle boots for a nice long, leggy look.
Knee-Length Dress
Wear a dress that hits at or above the knee. The shorter, the better, because the more length of leg that you show, the longer and slimmer they look. Lengthen your leg even more with wedge shoes or high heels 2 or 3 inches high. Shoes with straps are a no-no though, because the straps will shorten the line of your leg.
Dress with Flare
Talk about flair -- what you need is flare! Wear a dress or skirt that is fitted at the waist but flares out at the hem. This will emphasize your shape, and the fuller hem will make your legs look slimmer in comparison. A flared hem looks best at knee length or just above. Longer will look a little frumpy, and you never want that!
Long Dress
A monochromatic dress -- especially black -- that's almost ankle length will certainly be slimming. You don't have to worry about big calves at all if no one can see them! Pick a thin, flow-y fabric, not anything bulky, for a slim look from head to toe.
