Long tresses can be incredibly versatile. If you want to go the curly route, try using large hot rollers to produce hair with lots of volume and soft, pretty curls. There are tons of styles you can pull off with your hot rollers, from romantic 'dos to fab updos and lots of stuff in between.
How to Use Them
Using hot rollers can be tricky, so learn how to make them work. Start by plugging your rollers in and waiting for them to completely heat up. Mist your hair with a little bit of hair spray. Make sure not to overdo it here. You want hold without that nasty hard crunch that too much holding spray can create. Divide the hair into three vertical sections. Take a section of hair at the top of the head in the middle section and roll it back with your hot roller. Repeat going all the way down your head, clipping each roller in place. Do the same with the left and right sections of your hair.
Be Patient
Once your rollers are in, it's time to play the waiting game. No matter how antsy you are to see the glorious results, wait for 20 minutes for the curlers to completely cool. Once the curlers are cool, gently remove them from your hair, and voila! Big, gorgeous, bouncy curls for your long locks.
Try Soft Waves
Getting soft waves with large hot rollers is super simple. Once your hair is removed from rollers, just use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to gently loosen your curls. Add another mist of hair spray and you're all set. Try making your waves look more dramatic by wearing them with a deep side part.
Curly Updo
If you want to sport a voluminous updo instead, the steps to getting there are a cinch. Once your hair is curled, pull it back into a high ponytail. Now, take your ponytail and twist it gently into a bun, securing it in place with bobby pins.
