Besides being comfortable and effortless, tunics are flattering on a wide range of body types. How you wear your tunic is totally up to you and how you feel most comfortable. Give a tunic a shot. They're perfect for warm, sunny days and if you style it right, you can rock your tunic from morning till night!

The Comeback

Style expert and author Jené Luciani credits designer Tory Burch for bringing back the tunic. Truckloads of designers have jumped on Burch's bandwagon, and you can now find tunics made by such well-known names in fashion as Donna Karan and Nicole Miller. If style on a dime is your claim to fame, you can pick up fashion-forward tunics at more affordable prices from mall shops such as Forever 21 and Banana Republic.

How to Wear It

Colin T. McDonald, a celebrity stylist and commentator, says that a belt is a must-have accessory if you're going to go out in a tunic. "You want to avoid looking slouchy at all costs," McDonald says. McDonald recommends pairing your tunic with a pair of leggings for a fresh look that's casual yet chic. Luciani suggests pairing a tunic with a pair of strappy sandals for an elegant evening look. "The great thing about a tunic is that it's such a versatile piece," Luciani says.

What to Avoid

Stylist Lori Riviere has a few warnings for you to consider before you go too crazy with your tunic. "Stay away from pants with flared legs," Riviere cautions. "If you're pear shaped, keep any design or embellishment on your tunic above the hip area." Riviere suggests that pear-shaped ladies belt their tunics at the hips to provide a slimming fit. If you have a straight or hourglass figure, belt your tunic at the waist instead.

Celebrity Love

You've probably seen countless celebrities caught while out and about in their trendy tunics. From Michelle Obama and Heidi Klum to Kate Moss and Tori Spelling, fashion-forward ladies have made the tunic-plus-leggings look their go-to daily duds for running around town. Find a photo of a celebrity out and about in a sweet little tunic and adopt her style to fit your own personality and lifestyle.

Other Uses

Use your tunic as a hot little cover-up for slipping on over your bikini when you head to the pool or beach. Riviere suggests another surprise benefit of sporting a tunic: "The nice thing about wearing a tunic with white jeans is that you don't have to worry about VPL (visible panty lines)!" Bonus!
